Haverford School Hosts Carnival For Disabled Kids

Middle school students and their parents came out to that hosted a carnival that was not only part of a celebration of MLK Day, but for children with development and physical disabilities.

The 11th annual Martin Luther King (MLK) Caring Community Carnival brought disabled children who are served by the children’s charity Variety and the middle school students from The Haverford School, The Agnes Irwin School andThe Baldwin School together for a day of fun, with “game booths designed and built with disabled children in mind, staffed the prize table, and served refreshments,” stated a press release issued by The Haverford School.

The event, which took place on Sunday, Jan. 15 at the school’s Field House, not only took the opportunity to teach the students and children about diversity through books, but also allowed parents of disabled children to come together and network.
