Haverford Township Day A Week Away

Over 140 craft and flea market vendors to offer good during event. Sign up for 5k race now to save $5.

Haverford Township Day is shaping up to be a packed event, with over 80 craft vendors, nearly 200 flea market vendors, a parade, a 5K race, music, food and more.

The Oct. 1 event kicks off with the 5K race. The 19th Haverford Township Day 5k Run/Walk for Merry Place begins and ends at Haverford Middle School, and runs through the Karakung section of the township. Pre-registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and runners will set off at 8:30 a.m. Adults can register for $25 while kids over 6 years old but under 16 years old can register for just $10. Same-day registration is available for $30 per adult and $15 per kid.

The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. at starts at the Manoa Shopping Center. Parade participant registration ends Monday.

The Brookline Stage will host a recognition event at noon where Haverford Township Police will be honored for 100 years of service to the community.

The day will feature a variety of music including a Beatles cover band, dance party music, and the Haverford High School Orchestra. Rides, magicians, jugglers, and even a zip line will be available to entertain the whole family, as well.

Food vendors will set up shop at Brookline Boulevard and at the Skatium – where a free ice hockey clinic, free skating, face painting, henna tattooing, and caricature drawing will all take place. The craft and flea market vendors will be posted along Darby Road. Vendors from across the Delaware Valley are participating in the event and will be offering items ranging from primitive, rustic and barn wood crafted goods to boutique clothing and jewelry.

Darby Road will be closed to vehicles between Mill and Manoa roads beginning at 7 a.m. Bikes are also not permitting on Darby Road between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. However, the event will provide free bike valet services, so attendees needn't worry about their cars.
