Haverford Township Named Among The Safest Places In Pennsylvania

Haverford Township is among several local communities recently ranked among the safest places in Pennsylvania, according to a report.

Haverford Township ranked 10th among large-sized cities (population over 30,000) in Pennsylvania, according to an analysis created by ValuePenguin.

Northampton Township, in Bucks County, was ranked first among large cities (over 30,000 residents) in Pennsylvania, according to an analysis created by ValuePenguin.

Buckingham Township, also in Bucks County, ranked first among the safest mid-sized cities (population 20,000 to 30,000). Upper Providence Township was ranked as safest among small cities (10,ooo to 20,000 residents.)

The personal finance company ranked the different towns in the state based on a variety of crime metrics sourced from the FBI.

According to its website, ValuePenguin collected the most recent crime data available from the 2014 FBI crime statistics by city, excluding towns with fewer than 5,000 residents since they are more sensitive to crime score fluctuations for fewer crimes committed.
