Haverford Woman Wins Jackpot In Delco, Then Gets Trespassing Charge

A Haverford woman won a jackpot at Harrah's then was charged with trespassing after it was learned she was banned from Pennsylvania casinos.

HAVERFORD, PA — A Haverford woman's big win at a Delaware County casino was stolen from her when casino officials said she had been banned from Pennsylvania casinos more than 10 years ago.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the incident occurred at about 3:40 p.m. on Aug. 1 at Harrah's Philadelphia Casino and Racetrack in Chester.

Authorities said the woman, 72 and from Haverford, gambled for three hours at the casino and won a jackpot prize.

When she went to claim her prize, she showed casino officials her identification.

That's when officials learned the woman, who was not identified, was banned from Pennsylvania casinos in January 2014.

State police said the woman was charged with simple trespassing in connection with the incident.
