Havertown Business Sells Winning Cash 5 Lottery Ticket

The winner will split a $225,000 jackpot, as another winning ticket was sold in Lycoming County.

A Havertown business has sold a winning lottery ticket, meaning whoever the lucky winner is will be splitting a nearly $250,000 in winnings, according to Pennsylvania Lottery.

The lottery announced Tuesday that Acme Markets at 1305 West Chester Pike in Havertown sold a winning Cash 5 ticket. The winning numbers wee 09-14-16-17-35.

Cash 5's jackpot is $225,000, according to the lottery.

The lucky person who bought the ticket at the Acme in Havertown will split the prize with someone who purchased a second winning ticket in Muncy, Lycoming County.

Each business will earn a $500 retailer bonus for selling the winning tickets, too.

The prizes must be claimed and the tickets validated before the winners can be identified. Cash 5 winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.

The Lottery encourages each holder of a jackpot-winning ticket to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at any of Lottery’s seven area offices or at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County.

Claims may be filed Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at area offices and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at headquarters.

More than 28,300 other Cash 5 tickets won prizes of various amounts in the drawing, creating “Winners, winners – everywhere!” Players should check every ticket, every time. Lower-tier prizes may be claimed at Lottery retailers.

In Delaware County, the Pennsylvania Lottery awarded more than $96.3 million in prizes to winners and provided more than $47 million to programs that benefit older residents during the 2015-16 fiscal year.
