Havertown GIANT announces nutritionist class schedule for July

Courtney Schoepe, MA, RD, LDN, in-store nutritionist at the Havertown GIANT Food Store announces the July schedule of free classes. Classes meet within the Havertown GIANT at 116 Township Line Road unless otherwise noted. All of these classes are free, but registration may be required by calling 610-449-1161.

Snack Attack, Tuesday, July 11, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Heading to the beach this summer? Trying to figure out how to avoid diet detours on vacation? Join Courtney and learn what to choose for healthy and tasty snack ideas and what to back for those long summer days at the beach. We will even taste test a few.

Reflux 101, Monday, July 17, 2-3 p.m.

Meets in nutritionist’s office; Free; For all ages; Registration required

Suffering from reflux or GERD can be uncomfortable and cause long –term complications. Come meet with Courtney to learn some diet-related tips to decrease your symptoms and possibly reduce the medications you may already be taking. The Pharmacist will be available to answer any medication questions you might have.

Maximizing Summer Produce, Tuesday, July 25, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Summer fruits and veggies are abundance, especially our local produce at GIANT! Come learn some ways to incorporate seasonal fruits and veggies into everyday meals and how to properly freeze your produce for later.

In addition, if you need help losing weight or managing a health condition or food allergy, you can also schedule an individual consultation with Courtney. Individual consultations are $20 and participants receive back a $20 GIANT gift card upon completion.
