The Hill at Whitemarsh Receives a Five-Year CARF Accreditation, Demonstrating High Quality Care and Stakeholder Engagement

The Hill at Whitemarsh, Philadelphia's leading continuing care retirement community, has earned a five-year accreditation for excellence.

PHILADELPHIA, June 23, 2015 – The Hill at Whitemarsh, Philadelphia’s leading continuing care retirement community, has earned a five-year term of accreditation from CARF International, an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services. In approving the accreditation, the survey team reported that The Hill at Whitemarsh “has clearly distinguished itself as one that strives for excellence through pursuit of continuous quality improvement and stakeholder engagement.”


The Hill at Whitemarsh (www.thehillatwhitemarsh.org) joins only 220 accredited continuing care retirement communities listed on the CARF International website (http://www.carf.org/ccrcListing.aspx). The steps taken to accreditation included on-site observations by an expert survey team, extensive interviews with residents and stakeholders, and field reviews. The final report highlighted the community’s collaborative approach and “a high level of commitment in meeting the person-centered needs of its residents.”

The survey team benchmarked The Hill at Whitemarsh against other accredited communities. There were no areas of non-conformance within 1143 identified standards. The community scored 100% on 22 benchmarks, and no lower than 95.7% on the remaining four benchmarks. The CARF Report called out The Hill at Whitemarsh for its strong focus on seven dimensions of wellness, including more than 200 monthly program offerings, a full-time fitness coordinator and state of the art “Technogym” equipment.
