Identity Theft, Assault, DUI, More: Haverford Crime Blotter

Haverford Police said a Christmas card with a check in it was out for mail, but the check was stolen, altered, and cashed for $4,000.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township issued the newest crime blotter recently.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Dec. 14 and Dec. 23.

The blotter also includes arrests made and citations issued.

  • Theft at Kindred Hospital, 2000 block of Old West Chester Pike, on Dec. 14 at 9:16 a.m. – The Director of Dietary reported approximately $500 worth of chicken and beef were stolen.
  • Theft at Kindred Hospital, 2000 block of Old West Chester Pike, on Dec. 14 at 9:44 a.m. – $50 was stolen from an office.
  • Identity Theft at the unit block of Rodmor Road on Dec. 15 at 2:01 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used his identity to attempt to open two credit card accounts.
  • Theft at the unit block of Parkridge Drive on Dec. 15 at 3:33 p.m. – Victim reported that a Christmas card containing a personal check was stolen from his mailbox. The check was altered and cashed in the amount of $4,000.
  • Retail Theft at Lowe’s, 100 block of W. Township Line Road, on Dec. 15 at 4:48 p.m. – 32-year-old male, 200 block of Le Carra Drive, Lansdowne, was cited for the retail theft of $92.42 worth of merchandise.
  • Theft at the 800 block of Dover Road on Dec. 16 at 2:13 p.m. – Vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Theft at the 1200 block of Manor Road on Dec. 16 at 7:49 a.m. – Vehicle was entered – iPod was stolen.
  • Theft at the unit block of W. Marthart Avenue on Dec. 17 at 10:59 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – loose change was stolen.
  • Fraud at the unit block of Joann Circle on Dec. 18 at 3:32 p.m. – Victim reported that he received bills in the mail from EZ Pass for a total of $91.80. The bills stem from a License Plate to a trailer the victim previously owned.
  • Theft at the 1300 block of Robinson Avenue on Dec. 18 at 6:46 p.m. – Jewelry was reported missing from the victim’s bedroom.
  • Theft at the 100 block of Glendale Road on Dec. 18 at 12:07 p.m. – Victim reported that she was the victim of a scam. She received an email from someone claiming to be from the IRS. They stated that she needed to pay them or they would send law enforcement. She emailed them $300 worth of gift cards before she recognized the scam.
  • Theft at the 700 block of Buck Lane on Dec. 18 at 8:01 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – paperwork and a gold watch were stolen.
  • Theft at the 700 block of Buck Lane on Dec. 18 at 8:38 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Theft at the 700 block of Buck Lane on Dec. 18 at 6:34 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Theft at the 100 block of Glen Arbor Road on Dec. 19 at 6:04 a.m. – Vehicle window was shattered – A backpack containing a laptop and camera were stolen.
  • Theft at the 200 block of Brentwood Road on Dec. 19 at 8:43 a.m. – Vehicle window was smashed – nothing was reported missing.
  • Theft at the unit block of Park Road on Dec. 19 at 7:50 a.m. – Vehicle window was shattered – wallet was stolen.
  • Theft at the unit block of Park Road on Dec. 19 at 6:24 a.m. – Vehicle window was shattered – wallet was stolen.
  • Theft at the 300 block of Cherry Lane on Dec. 19 at 6:49 a.m. – Vehicle window was shattered – nothing was reported missing.

  • Fraud at the 700 block of Ardmore Avenue on Dec. 20 at 3:53 p.m. – Victim reported nine fraudulent withdrawals from her bank account.
  • Theft at Waterford Apartments, 1900 block of Lawrence Road, on Dec. 20 at 7:54 a.m. – Multiple vehicles had their windows shattered, wallet, credit cards, identification and $800 was stolen.
  • Theft at the unit block of Marthart Avenue on Dec. 20 at 3:45 p.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered, a lunchbox containing a work ID was stolen.
  • Theft at the 1900 block of West Chester Pike on Dec. 20 at 5:27 a.m. – Vehicle window was shattered, $50 and a spare key to another vehicle was stolen. The other vehicle was stolen and crashed on West Chester Pike.
  • Theft at the unit block of Hillcrest Avenue on Dec. 21 at 3:59 p.m. – A package was stolen after it was delivered.
  • Theft at Wilkie Lexus, 500 block of Lancaster Avenue, on Dec. 21 at 1:20 p.m. – Registration was stolen from a vehicle.
  • Public Drunkenness at the 2200 block of Haverford Road on Dec. 23 at 11:11 p.m. – 26-year-old male, 1500 block of Manoa Road, Wynnewood, was cited for public drunkenness.

  • 45-year-old female, 1700 block of Tyson Road, Havertown. Charges: Simple Assault. Location: 1700 block of Tyson Road. Date: Dec. 16 at 10:56 p.m.
  • 53-year-old male, 1900 block of Sandy Hill Road, Plymouth Meeting. Charges: DUI. Location: 400 block of E. Township Line Road. Date: Dec. 21 at 11:38 p.m.
  • 36-year-old male, 1200 block of Ludlow Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. Location: Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Dec. 20 at 1:01 p.m.
