Kelly Music For Life Looking To Install LED Marquee Sign

HAVERTOWN, PA — The Kelly Center for Music, Arts, and Community in Havertown is looking to install a LED sign at its location, but township approval is needed.
Haverford Township's Zoning Hearing Board Monday will weigh in on a request by owner Tom Kelly to get variances for the sign's installation.
According to township documents, the sign is a two-paneled LED message board marquee sign, 10.6 square feet per side, and would project 2.46 feet over the front entry door.

Documents show the "mini marquee" sign would be triangular in shape.
Kelly is seeking three variances to get the sign approved. Those are §182- 701.E(1)(b)(2) for a projecting sign to exceed 40 percent of signable area; §182-701.B(7) for a nonpermitted animated sign; and §182-701.E(3) for the sign to be illuminated by multi-colored LED lights where direct or indirect white light is permitted.

The board will discuss the sign at 7 p.m. Monday in the Haverford Township Administration Building, Meeting Room B, 1014 Darby Road in Havertown.
