Many Leads Pursued In Random Fatal Shooting: Haverford Police
A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect, Delaware County officials said.
HAVERFORD, PA – Authorities are pursuing several leads in connection with the fatal shooting that occurred Saturday night in Haverford, according to police Chief John Viola. Delaware County officials said a $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
Viola said the victim is John Le, 29, of Narberth, and went on to say investigators are tracking down leads in the shooting, which occurred at about 6 p.m. Saturday, July 28 at an apartment on the 2300 block of Haverford Road in the Ardmore section of the township.
The suspect was last seen fleeing toward Lower Merion Township after the shooting.

Viola said the same suspect in the fatal shooting is the same person who fired shots in Philadelphia's Overbrook section about 45 minutes before Le's death.
Philadelphia Police said at about 5:10 p.m. on the 1600 block of North 77th Street in Overbrook, the victim was told by phone that someone was looking into the rear entrance of his residence.

Another person joined the victim to check the area and the pair saw a male matching the description if the suspicious male, police said.
When confronted by the two victims, the suspect pulled out a firearm and began to shoot, police said.
The vehicle both victims were traveling in was struck several times.
The suspect is described as a black male, mid to late 20s, 5-feet 9-inches tall with a thin build between 150 to 160 pounds, dark complexion, full close cropped beard and mustache wearing a thin red pullover sweatshirt and gray jeans, operating a charcoal Volvo sedan mid2000s model and tag unknown, police said.
Viola said the last homicide in Haverford was in 2003.
