Mass COVID Testing Site Open In Delaware County

DARBY, PA — A mass coronavirus testing site has opened in Delaware County with a goal of testing hundreds of people daily.

The site is open from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., seven days a week, at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, 1500 Lansdowne Road, in Darby.

PCT tests are administered in a drive-thru setting at the site.

Pre-registration is encouraged and can be done online here.

Results will typically be provided within 48 hours. Health insurance or identification are not needed.

County officials said the site will be open through Feb. 7, unless an extension is approved by Health and Human Services.

The site aims to serve people in Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, Montgomery, and Schuylkill counties.

Delaware County was chosen for the site as it is in an area with a large population and a significant increase in coronavirus cases and testing needs.

The Health and Human Services’ Increasing Community Access to Testing Team (ICATT) is operating the site in coordination with Delaware County and Trinity Mid-Atlantic/Mercy Fitzgerald.

"This high-volume, high-throughput site, now under the direction of the ICATT team and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, can provide approximately 1,000 tests per day and 7,000 tests per week," said Delaware County Board of Health Chair and the County’s COVID-19 Task Force Director, Rosemarie Halt. "This will allow Delaware County and our COVID-19 Task Force to address the high demand for testing during a time of high transmission of the highly contagious Omicron variant throughout the region."
