MusicWorks Receives Grant For Music Therapy Program
After school program is designed to help children with autism.
MusicWorks has received a grant to fund a music therapy program for Child Guidance Resource Centers (CGRC), an after school program.
“Grants have been received from the Ethel Sergeant Clark Smith Memorial Fund and the Kistler-Tiffany Foundation to ensure the continuation of music therapy sessions provided by MusicWorks. Our board certified music therapists are thrilled to be working at CGRC’s After School Program (ASP),” stated Lori O’Leary, the executive director for MusicWorks, in a press release.
MusicWorks, located on 2050 West Chester Pike in Havertown, provides music therapy for those who suffer from autism, special needs, illness and aging. Those in need come from all over Delaware and Montgomery counties.

The after school program is designed to help children with autism with developmental and social skills, according to the press release. The program is for those ages 5 through 21.
The after school program will provide another outlet to help children express themselves both verbally and artistically, stated the program’s director Patrick Rowley.

CGRC is also a "private, non-profit, community behavioral healthcare organization dedicated to providing quality care and educational services that best meet the needs of children, youth and their families in the Tri-State Area," according to its website.
