New Water Main Being Installed

Work is expected to be finished by June.

Aqua has started a new project of installing a new water main in Haverford Township. 

According to a press release from State Rep. Greg Vitali’s office, a new water main will be installed in the following streets: 

  •   Winton Avenue between Campbell Avenue and Edgehill Road;
  •   Hastings Avenue between Maple Avenue and Winton Avenue;
  •   East Benedict Avenue between Maple Avenue and Winton Avenue;
  •   East Turnbull Avenue between Darby Road and Maple Avenue;
  •   East Marthart Avenue between Darby Road and Winton Avenue;
  •   Mill Road between Colony Lane and Leedom Avenue.

The project started this past Monday and is expected to be finished by June of this year, according to the press release.

“Crews will work from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The road will be closed in the construction area.  Access will be provided for essential services including emergency vehicles, school buses, and mail and trash services. Residents will have access to their properties,” the release stated.

Aqua has requested that drivers to try to avoid the construction sites and that temporary no parking signs have been posted during the construction area during working hours, according to the press release.

Aqua has not yet replied to a voice message left by the Haverford-Havertown Patch seeking comment.
