No Property Tax Hike In Proposed 2022 Haverford Budget

Good news for property owners: the proposed 2022 budget for Haverford Township does not contain a real estate tax increase.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Property owners in Haverford Township have cause to be happy about next year's budget as it makes its way through the bureaucracy.

The 2022 proposed budget for Haverford Township was presented last week.

As it stands, the proposed budget does not contain a real estate property tax increase.

The township's rate will stay at 4.218 mills should the budget pass in its current form.

That rate accounts for 17 percent of the tax bill residents in the township will face.

While the property tax rate is not planned to go up, a few other fees are expected to increase.

The budget proposes a 10-cent sewer rent increase and a $30 increase to trash and recycling fees. The new rates will be $4.65 per 1000 gallons of water and $275 for collections.

General fund revenues and expenditures in the proposed budget total stand at $46,567,428 each.

The proposed capital budget summary is $53.45 million and the proposed operating budget is $51.31 million.

The Board of Commissioners will meet at 7 p.m. on Dec. 13 for a vote on adopting the proposed 2022 budget.
