Penncrest Drops Homecoming Game To Haverford
The Penncrest football team matched up against conference foe Haverford, losing by a final score of 27-7. The game featured halftime homecoming festivities as many alumni and current students were in attendance for the game

IN SHORT
controlled the game from start to finish as the Lions simply had no answer for the Fords rushing attack. Running backs Mike Clancy and James McWilliams combined for more than200 yards on the ground in route to four touchdowns. The Lions had a hard time all night trying to slow down the run but it just was not there for them in this one.
In the first half it was all Haverford as they opened the scoring column in the first quarter with a rushing touch down by Clancy. In the second quarter it was more of the same for the Fords continuing their effective running and adding two more touchdowns increasing their lead to 20-nil
On the offensive side of the ball, the running game was ineffective for Penncrest as they compiled very minimal running production. Junior quarterback Shane Donnelly showed on a number of occasions that if given the right amount of protection that he could make plays down the field. He connected with a variety of receivers on a series of 30-plus yard gains including a completion to tight end John George.
There was one highlight of game that came in the fourth quarter when Donnelly completed a 60 yard pass to running back Joe Volciak that put the Lions deep in Haverford territory.
The play followed with a successful series of downs that put Penncrest within four yards of the touchdown marker. Donnelly then capped off the drive with a four yard run for the Lions first score of the season.
