Person Of Interest In Delco Teen's Stabbing Death Found: Police

Police said they have found a person of interest in connection with the stabbing death of 15-year-old Michael Garr.

UPPER DARBY, PA — Police in Upper Darby have found a person of interest in connection with the recent stabbing death of a teenager.

Michael Garr, 15, was stabbed to death on Friday last week.

The incident occurred at about 9:30 p.m. on the 200 block of Bridge Street in Drexel Hill.

Upper Darby Police Tuesday night said they found a person of interest in the case, but did not say if he was in custody or charged.

Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 27 has offered $10,000 for information in connection with the Upper Darby high schooler's death.

Police are asking anyone in the Oakview section of Drexel Hill near or off Bridge Street, or along the Baltimore Pike corridor in Clifton Heights, to contact them.

Authorities are also asking anyone who may have surveillance video from April 21, about 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., to contact them.

Anyone with footage of the area at that time should send it to info@udpd.org, or information on the incident should call police at 484-574-1157.

A GoFundMe campaign has been established to support Garr's family.

"The family is devastated and trying to process this senseless act," organizer Michael Peabody said on the page. "Looking to support the family and help to defray funeral costs as they bury their teenaged loved one."

As of Wednesday morning, more than $47,500 has been raised by the campaign.
