Scammers Posing As Border Patrol, TX Cops Target Delco Man: PSP
Scammers purporting to be with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, as well as El Paso Police, bilked a Delco man out of nearly $20,000.
GLEN MILLS, PA — A Delaware County man was taken for nearly $20,000 by scammers posing as federal authorities and Texas police recently, Pennsylvania State Police said.
According to state police, a Glen Mills man is out $18,100 after he got a call from people purporting to be agents with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, as well as members of the El Paso Police Department.
The call came at about 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 31, police said.

The callers told the victim, 58 years old, that there was a warrant out for his arrest, police said.
He was defrauded out of the money, and also sent the scammers photos of his driver's license and social security card, state police said.
