Stollsteimer said as of 11 a.m. Friday, it's unclear if the weapon in the photo was an actual firearm, but said the weapon looks real.

"Police responded dramatically well," Stollsteimer said at a news conference.

Other police departments from Delaware County responded, as well as SWAT officers, to support Sharon Hill Police.

The school is still locked down as of 11 a.m. while police ensure the school is completely safe for students, faculty, and staff.

Herron said the Southeast Delco School District will update the community on dismissal later in the day.
