Brawl Erupts At Protest Over Delco School Dress Code
Sharon Hill Police said officers and Academy Park High School officials were attacked during a large fight Tuesday morning during a protest.
SHARON HILL, PA — Numerous students were taken into police custody Tuesday after police and school staff were attacked during a large fight.
Sharon Hill Police said the incident began at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Academy Park High School.
Police were called to the school for a report of a large fight and found hundreds of youths both inside and outside the school fighting.

County and state authorities were called to the school to quell the brawl, police said.
Action News reports 10 students were taken into custody.

Police said school officials and law enforcement officers were attacked during the fight, and that the school's lobby was damaged.
The melee broke out during protests over the school's new dress code policy, which bans hoodies and hats.
The ban was approved at an Oct. 27 board meeting and instated Monday.
According to the district, an emergency school board meeting is being held Wednesday night.
Sharon Hill Detectives are working with school administrators, police said.
