Teen, Cop Rescue Kids From Frozen Delco Pond Monday
A 16-year-old and a police officer helped pull three children from an icy pond in Collingdale Monday afternoon, according to reports.
COLLINGDALE, PA — A 16-year-old boy is being hailed as a hero after he jumped into action when three children fell through ice and into a frigid pond Monday in Delaware County.
NBC10 reports 16-year-old Anthony Alexander helped rescue a young boy and girl from an iced-over pond in Collingdale Park at about 3 p.m. Monday.
The teen was hanging out in the park when he heard screams after the three children fell through the ice.

Alexander used a stick to pull one of the girls to safety and dragged the boy out himself, Fox 29 reports.
The third child, another young girl, was rescued by Collingdale Police Sergeant Pat Kilroy, according to Action News.

Reports state the children were taken to a hospital and are physically ok.
As the incident unfolded, Yeadon Police crashed while en route to the pond but crashed into another police vehicle nearby. None of the officers involved were seriously hurt.
