High, Unlicensed Teen Driver Fatally Struck Swarthmore Professor In Delco: Report

UPPER DARBY, PA — A teen has been charged after authorities say he was high and driving unlicensed when he struck and and killed a Swarthmore College professor, according to NBC10.

Kali Poole, 18, of Collingdale, was charged Monday in relation to a Dec. 3 crash in Upper Darby.

Poole had marijuana in his system when he struck and killed a biker — later identified as Swarthmore math professor Eduard “Teddy” Einstein, 39 — NBC10 reports.

The suspect was also driving unaccompanied with a learner's permit, officials said.

He stayed at the scene to cooperate with investigators, according to the Delaware County Daily Times.

Poole was charged Monday with second-degree felony vehicular homicide while driving under the influence, third-degree felony accidents involving death or injury while unlicensed, and related offenses.

A warrant was issued for his arrest.
