Woman Charged For Leaving Fentanyl Outside Delco School​

She faces drug and endangering the welfare of a child charges after bags of fentanyl were found outside a Catholic elementary school.

A Philadelphia woman was charged after bags of fentanyl were found outside of a Delaware County elementary school on Sept. 7, according to police and court documents.

Upper Darby Police said Dollinda Williams, 29, of Philadelphia, allegedly left a bag of fentanyl outside St. Bernadette of Lourdes Catholic elementary school in Drexel Hill.

Williams, who is free on $25,000 unsecured bail, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and endangering the welfare of children, court records show.

She is slated to appear in a Delaware County court on Sept. 26 for her preliminary hearing, according to court documents.

The charges stem from a Sept. 7 incident where parents picking up their students from St. Bernadette of Lourdes Catholic elementary school found a bag on the ground. That bag held 29 smaller baggies containing fentanyl.

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is particularity deadly, as even low doses of the drug can be exponentially more lethal than heroin.

Philly.com reports Williams was dropping off her kindergarten student when she dropped the drugs. Police told Philly.com she went back to look for the drugs and was confronted by school officials.

Police then located Williams and she admitted to dropping the drugs outside the school.

She turned herself into police Tuesday, Sept. 12.
