A World Without Wheat....Clean Up Made Easy!
A little idea to help keep things clean in your kitchen.....

Have you ever scrubbed and scrubbed a pan to get out baked on food? Or wanted to be sure to get all that wheat pasta off a pan before you cook gluten free in it? I often have that nagging worry that I missed a spot and honestly that is all it takes to contaminate food for a celiac.
So today on a webpage called The Gluten Free Homemaker I read her post with interest as this was her topic. I figured she was going to talk about baking soda but no, she suggested something similar but different. She says to sprinkle cream of tarter on the pan, yes that stuff you put in with egg whites when you beat them up for recipes. A teaspoon is suggested for a regular pan, a tablespoon for a crock pot clean up. Let it stand 3-5 minutes and scrub well. Rinse off all the debris and you have a spotless, GF pan ready for cooking in. No need for harsh chemicals or extreme efforts, just a little cream of tarter you can buy in every grocery store……baking aisle.
Good to know if you do a lot of home cooking and especially if you cook for people with food allergies who are hoping you are using sparkling clean pots and pans when you make holiday treats!
