• Saucon Valley School New: October 2026 (sauconsource.com) — Families in Hellertown should note that all Saucon Valley schools will be closed Monday, Oct. 12, and that two Parent Safety Night sessions on digital challenges are planned for Nov. 5 at the high school. The district is also celebrating National Merit honorees, homecoming royalty, student artists, and principals who serve roughly 2,000 students from Hellertown and Lower Saucon Township.
• Hellertown Police Flag 99 MPH Reading on Easton Road (sauconsource.com) — Hellertown residents are being warned about extreme speeding on Easton Road, where a borough speed sign recently recorded a 99 mph driver and police are planning targeted enforcement. At the same council meeting, officials discussed problem traffic patterns near CVS, potential new parking restrictions on Clauser Street and Gum Alley, and upcoming decisions on a surplus police car and Route 309 grant support.
• New irons, attitude turned Saucon's Albano into District 11 golf championship (mcall.com) — A Saucon Valley High golfer captured the District 11 Class 3A title with an even-par 72 on his home course at Steel Club in Hellertown, highlighted by three straight birdies on the back nine. The tournament brought top boys and girls players from across the region to town, with several advancing to the upcoming PIAA state championships.
