Katherine DeWalt, 88, Was Born in Hellertown [Obituary]

Katherine DeWalt, 88, of Parryville, Carbon County, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 at her home. She was the widow of Thurman F. DeWalt Sr. She was born in Hellertown on Nov. 29, 1924 to the late John and Elizabeth (Feke) Verba. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Slatington. 

SURVIVORS

Children: Ronald J. Verba with whom she resided, Thurman C. (Marlene) of Slatington, Wayne R. (Susan) of Palmerton, Patricia M. Gable of Walnutport; brother: John Verba of Easton; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son-in-law Larry Gable, and siblings: Charles Verba and Elizabeth Reichard. 

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 1:30 p.m. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
