New Demands New World Honey...

Long gone are the days of quitting High School without a worry. Back in the acceptable drop out days, boys could do this. Looking at the history of the PA i know, Topton and Caloric and Deka, Wilkes-Barre and the mines to Hellertown and a proud industrious past including Bethlehem Steel, The Bottling Works, and Champion Spark Plugs, to name a few.
In our age, in my age, 20 years ago, graduating High School was becoming so much more important. Yes, in Topton, you could still get that job at DEka, as many of my proud alumni have, but we were mostly seeking beyond the corn fields and into the bigger world is what I observed.
I observed The American Dream of striking it rich with our fresh young minds. Some did, some failed, but kept working hard for that slice of the American Pie.
I doubt our modern children have the limited flexibility of even the early 1990's.This is why now more than ever to raise children to love learning.
In our current society, the information highway travels at an astounding rate. You don't want your kid in slow lane puttering along with old school hate, new school mistrust, and right-now school arrogance. You want him and her well-informed on all levels from Sex Ed to knowing how to fill a job application and shine from the rest.
You also want them to have peace in such worldly unrest. Stay open and close. True hearts prevail and can weather any storm! Together.
