Edward C. Beers, of Bethlehem Township, died Jan. 23, 2012 at his home in Bethlehem Township.

Edward C. Beers, 84, of Bethlehem Township died Monday, Jan. 23, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Bethlehem on July 30, 1927 to the late Kenneth A. and Anna (Garay) Beers. He was the husband of Isabelle J. (Smith) Beers. He served his country faithfully in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Beginning in 1960, he was a self-employed general contractor for 50 years trading as EC Beers General Contractor, Bethlehem. Edward, for 42 years, was active in the Bethlehem American Legion Band as a trumpeter. He was known for his humor and wit.
Survivors:
In addition to his loving wife of 61 years; children: Bruce E. Beers and his wife Debra of Coopersburg, Jennifer J. wife of David J. Emili of Salisbury Township, and Michael C. Beers of Bethlehem; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two great-granddaughters.

Service:
Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8pm Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012 at , 326 Main St., Hellertown, followed by the service at 8pm. Interment will be at Nisky Hill Cemetery, Bethlehem. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.
