Obituary: Stephen J. Bartakovits, 91, of Hellertown

Stephen J. Bartakovits, 91, of Hellertown, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at St. Luke's University Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of the late Ruth A. (Ehret) Bartakovits and Mary C. (Wukich) Bartakovits. He was born in Riegelsville on Sept. 26, 1920 to the late Charles and Rose (Donchez) Bartakovits. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Army during WWII. Steve worked as an Electrical Inspector at the Coke Oven Plant of Bethlehem Steel for more than 31 years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of , Lower Saucon Township; a life member of , and volunteer fire companies; a member of the Special Police Fire; a Northampton County Dept. Sheriff Constable for Lower Saucon for six years; a member of United Steel Local 2600; and a life member of Silver Creek Athletic Association.

Survivors:

His companion Dolores E. (Querio) Smith; children: Rose Mary wife of Andrew Myers of Hellertown, Sharon Lee wife of John M. Azzaro of Mertztown, Cynthia Lynn wife of Ralph Heffley of Bath; sister: Theresa wife of Louis Messics of Wassergass, Lower Saucon Township; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Service:

Family and friends are invited to call from 9 to 10am Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the , 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 10am. The interment will conclude services at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
