1-Man Show 'The Trouble With My Name' Set In Horsham
The sometimes humorous show, by professor, poet and author Javier Avila, highlights the Latin experience in the United States.

HORSHAM, PA — A one-man show highlighting the Latin experience in the United States has been scheduled in Horsham.
"The Trouble With My Name," features poetry and personal stories from professor Javier Avila. It is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, at Keith Valley Middle School in Horsham.
An author, professor and poet, Avila began his career teaching English at the University of Puerto Rico. He would later move to Pennsylvania, where he earned the 2015 Pennsylvania Professor of the Year award from the Carnegie Foundation.

"The Trouble With My Name," will showcase the journey "of a man who moves between cultures to provide a fascinating perspective of American Latinos who struggle to dispel misconceptions about their identity and place in the world," according to a press release.
The show is sponsored by the Hatboro-Horsham Educational Foundation and is free to the public.

Pennsylvania's oldest educational foundation, the HHEF has been contributing to K-12 education in the community since 1987. It has awarded more than $1 million in grants that support hands-on math and science, environmental education, media and digital literacy, arts and culture and student leadership.
Keith Valley Middle School is located at 227 Meetinghouse Rd. in Horsham.
