$100 Tax Hike Approved In Hatboro Municipal Budget
Hatboro Borough Council added new millage to help fund its Second Alarmers this year.

HATBORO, PA —One year after borough residents paid $115 more in municipal taxes, they're going to be paying another $100 tax hike for 2024.
The Hatboro Borough Council at its meeting Monday night unanimously approved a $100 tax increase for a homeowner with a property assessed at $136,708.
There was no discussion from the council or residents about the tax increase. The council held a budget presentation that went over every line item and lasted for several hours last month.

Council Vice President Dave Stockton that the general fund is rising from $7.8 million to $8.38 million.
He said part of the increase is coming from a new tax for the borough's Second Alarmers. That cost is .05 mills to help fund the emergency crew.

Fire services are increasing from 0.925 mills to 1.026 mills, Stockton said. He said the library tax is 0.55 mills.
Borough officials talked about how Hatboro —like other towns throughout Montgomery County —was hit hard by inflation, the rising cost of supplies, and economic uncertainty.
