2 Hatters Sign Athletic Scholarships

HORSHAM, PA — Two student-athletes at Hatboro Horsham High School signed letters of intent last week to continue their on-field pursuits at the collegiate level.
At a press conference at the school, seniors Arielle Hammer and Brittany Hubler announced their college commitments. Hammer, a four-year starter at goalie for the Hatters lacrosse team, committed to play on scholarship for Boston University in the fall of 2019.
Hubler, a two-time first team all-league and second-team all-state catcher on the softball team accepted a scholarship to play softball for Kutztown University.

Both will finish out their high school athletic careers in the spring of 2019.
"We have two students here, Arielle and Brittany, who are academically successful and athletically successful," said Lou James, Hatboro Horsham's athletic director, said at the press conference. "We're very proud of these two young ladies. Very proud."

"I chose Boston because, academically and athletically, it's top notch," Hammer said in a video provided by the school district. "And, I love the city of Boston so, for me, it just kind of felt like home when I got there."
"I decided to choose Kutztown because of the really competitive softball program," Hubler said. "And also just, when I went to the campus, I felt like this is just were I wanted to be."
She said the school's academics also played a role.
