2 Principals Resign From Hatboro-Horsham School District

The Hatboro-Horsham School District seeks to replace two longtime principals, one who is retiring with the other taking a new job.

HATBORO / HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — Two longtime Hatboro-Horsham School District principals have resigned, one taking a new job while the other will retire at the end of the school year.

At its recent meeting, the Hatboro-Horsham School Board accepted the resignations of longtime principals Dennis Williams and Karen Kanter.

Williams, a Hatboro-Horsham graduate, served as the principal of Hatboro-Horsham High School for two decades and worked in the district for 21 years.

His departure for a new job will be in the next 60 days to become the director of secondary education in the North Penn School District.

Meanwhile, Kanter is retiring after 23 years with the school district. She will leave her post at Simmons Elementary School, effective June 30.

Schools Superintendent Scott Eveslage praised both principals for their service to the school district.

“Dennis Williams has dedicated his life to being a Hatter,’’ Eveslage said. “He provided extraordinary leadership, care, and stability to generations of students, families, and staff. His leadership has been deeply rooted in a strong sense of community, tradition, and Hatter pride.”

Eveslage said Kanter served with distinction during her tenure at Simmons since 2007, providing "steady, compassionate student-centered leadership."

The schools superintendent said the school district will celebrate Kanter's retirement over the rest of the school year.

Meanwhile, the school district is now searching for replacements for both positions.

"These positions play a critical role in shaping the student experience, supporting staff, and continuing the strong tradition of excellence across our schools," school officials said..
