2 Smoke Shops Cited For Selling Tobacco To Minors In Hatboro

HATBORO, PA —Two businesses have been cited for violations after the Hatboro Borough Police Department conducted tobacco compliance checks this week.

Hatboro Police Chief Mark Ruegg said that on Oct. 18, the Hatboro Borough Police Department conducted tobacco compliance checks in conjunction with the Council of Southeast Pennsylvania.

All borough retailers who are assigned a tobacco license through the state of Pennsylvania are subject to compliance checks throughout the year and repeated violations can result in loss of the tobacco license, police said.

During the compliance checks, two businesses were cited for violation of the PA Crimes Code, Title 18 6305 for the sale of tobacco to minors.

Police said the two businesses were:

• SHAAN SMOKE SHOP – 1 N York Road
• HATBORO SMOKE SHOP – 11 S York Road
