2nd Phase Of Blair Mill Road Widening Project To Begin
The Horsham Township Council heard updates on its projects from Montgomery County transportation officials.

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —The Blair Mill Road Widening Project is progressing and will enter its second phase next month, transportation officials said.
The Horsham Township Council recently heard an update on the township's transportation projects from Matt Edmond of the Montgomery Council Planning Commission and Eric Frary of Michael Baker International.
Frary updated the council on Phases 2 and 3 of the Blair Mill Road Widening Project, stating that water and sewer relocation on Phase 2 from Route 611 to Witmer Road would begin in January.

He said that road construction would start this spring.
Preliminary engineering on Phase 3, from Witmer Road to Welsh Road, is expected to be completed in June with right-of-way acquisition expected to be done by December 2025, transportation officials said.

Meanwhile, Frary said the Horsham Road Bridge near the township building will either need to be replaced or expanded. Before the work can begin, officials must come up with a design that will allow for the road to remain open.
He also said that utility work for the Horsham Road / Limekiln Pike Intersection Project could begin in June. Right-of-way acquisition for that project is continuing.
Improvements to the Route 611 corridor from Blair Mill Road to County Line Road is also moving forward.
The council unanimously approved a proposal to pay Michael Baker International $692,700 to come up with a plan to improve that stretch of Route 611.
Township Manager Bill Walker said the project would be fully funded by grants.
