HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —Several families were displaced after three fires —including two in the same apartment complex —took place over the three-day holiday weekend, the Horsham Fire Company said.

Authorities said there were no serious injuries from the fires. Police said one person was treated for smoke inhalation.

The fire company said it handled 17 service calls, including the three fires, over the three days.

Fire officials said two fires were at the Addison English Village Apartments on Lower State Road. One was on Christmas Eve at 6:31 p.m. and units were on the scene for at least 90 minutes. Fire officials said the building involved was evacuated overnight due to damage and the families were displaced.

Then just after midnight Monday, firefighters responded to a house fire in the Talamore development with heavy fire from the roof and chimney area.

Fire officials were there for three hours extinguishing the fire and performing an extensive overhaul.

At 6:08 a.m. Monday, firefighters returned to the Addison apartments for another building fire. That fire, officials said, was extinguished quickly and brought under control within 30 minutes.

The fire company then had four more service calls Monday:

  • Fire Investigation in the 500 block of W. Moreland Avenue, 6:37 p.m.
  • Assist EMS call —600 block of Brumar Drive, 7:59 p.m.
  • Electrical Fire —1400 block of Bethlehem Pike, 9:01 p.m.
  • Odor of Gas —300 block of Horsham Road, 4:10 p.m.

All three fires are being investigated by the Horsham Township Fire Marshall's Office. There are no further details on the causes.

Meanwhile, EMS crews responded to 42 medical incidents over this same time period.

"We would Ike to thank all the surrounding communities' fire companies and EMS agencies that assisted us during this busy holiday time frame," the fire department said in a Facebook post.
