The Mini-THON is part of the greater THON fundraising effort, the largest student-run
philanthropy, headed by Penn State and Four Diamonds.

The grand total was revealed at the end of the event.

That total of $35,070.32 beat the high school’s previous school record by $9,000. That record was set in 2019.

The funds are used to drive the discovery of new and improved treatments for childhood cancer
by supporting the work of researchers at Penn State Children’s Hospital, Penn State College of
Medicine and Philadelphia Children’s Hospitals, school officials said.

Four Diamonds also supports families by covering all medical expenses not paid for by insurance for every eligible child.
