After Boil Water Advisory, Horsham Residents To Get Free Service
Residents impacted by the recent boil water advisory will receive a three day credit on their water bill.

HORSHAM, PA — Residents impacted by the recent boil water advisory will receive a three day credit on their water bill, officials with the Horsham Sewer and Water Authority announced on Tuesday.
The advisory amounted to more than just an inconvenience for residents within the area bounded by Limekiln Pike, County Line, Blair Mill and Welsh Roads. The Hatboro-Horsham School District was forced to shut down on Friday, and all bars and restaurants within the zone lost business for those days as well, unless they were able to provide water from an alternative source.
The advisory was lifted on Saturday afternoon after lab results came back and confirmed that no contaminants were in the system.

The boil water advisory was due to a malfunction in the disinfection system at one of the authority's operating wells.
The three-day credit will be issued at some point in July, authorities said.

Meanwhile, officials said that an investigation into what went wrong is underway.
"Rest assured the HWSA is conducting a comprehensive review of the events leading up to and throughout the recent advisory," officials said in a statement. "Including flaws and breakdowns in the notification and communication process. (We) will implement every corrective action necessary."
