Alleged Hatboro Bank Robber Waives Hearing: Report
Kevin Philip-John Way has confessed to the July 8 robbery of Hatboro's TD Bank.

The Hatboro man accused of robbing a Hatboro bank before being shot by a citizen as he tried to escape waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Thursday morning, according to multiple media reports.
Kevin Philip-John Way, 30, had his left hand and wrist wrapped in gauze where he was shot by Hatboro councilman George Forgeng, 60, according to Montgomery News.
Way has been charged with five felony counts of robbery, felony theft, and misdemeanor simple assault, the report states.

He has already confessed to his involvement in the July 8 robbery of Hatboro’s TD Bank on256 S. York Road, according to the report.
Forgeng saw a packet of dye explode as Way was walking away from the scene, and gave chase because he knew the bank had been robbed before.

He called for Way to stop but he ran for a quarter of a mile until he reached a parking lot. Forgeng says Way turned around and started walking towards him, at which point Forgeng fired twice.
The Montgomery County District Attorney’s office has not yet determined if charges will be filed against Forgeng.
On Thursday, Way’s lawyer asked for a reduction in bail so that he could be transferred back to Abington Memorial hospital for more treatment to his gunshot wounds, reports state.
