Hatboro-Horsham Student Success Goals Set

HATBORO / HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — The goals are in place for student success, and now school officials want to make sure that they are accomplished.

Assistant Schools Superintendent Ted Domers recently presented the progress on the Comprehensive Plan’s "Welcoming Schools and Post-Secondary Success" goals.

Those goals include the district’s approach for continued development in these two focal areas.

The key goals include:

• 100 percent of each tested grade level exceeding the state average for achievement and expected growth on PSSA and Keystone exams by 2027.
• Reducing the number of students who are chronically absent, with 10 percent improvement per year over a three-year period (also by 2027).
• Seventy percent of the Class of 2027 engaging in a rigorous course of study in Advanced Placement (AP) courses, Career and Technical Education program concentrators, and
  college dual enrollments.

Domers reviewed current scores, success indicators, and the current statistics for chronic absenteeism.

The Comprehensive Plan includes progress monitoring through monthly reports, attendance lists, and belongingness surveys.

Strategies include school-based teams, family engagement, and student focus groups.

He said that post-secondary success goals include monitoring honors, AP, and dual enrollment course options and access, school-to-school transitions, and early literacy, with strategies to improve, including increased course selection, dual-enrollment partnerships, and more.
