$3.2M Deficit Remains In Proposed Hatboro-Horsham School Budget

HATBORO / HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — The Hatboro-Horsham School Board is trying to deal with a $3.2 million deficit as it readies to approve the 2026-2027 budget.

During an April 13 presentation before school directors, Bill Stone, the district's Director of Business Affairs, presented the proposed final budget for the 2026-2027 school year.

The proposed final budget has projected revenues of $138.2 million and projected expenditures of $142.9 million.

With a real estate tax increase of 3.5 percent (the maximum allowed by the state), the projected remaining budget deficit is roughly $3.2 million, Stone said.

Stone stated that was not the final recommended real estate tax increase, and that more work will be done to eliminate the deficit before the final budget is considered for approval on June 15.

Over the next two months, the Administration will consider further budget reductions and efficiencies, finalize the state’s property tax rebate credit, recommend a final real estate tax increase, and the details of the property tax rebate programs, school officials said.
