HATBORO / HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — With the Keith Valley Middle School in its first year of operation, there are also new learning methods underway at the new building.
The Hatboro-Horsham School Board recently heard a presentation from the school's administrative team about those methods.
The team consists of Principal Jon Kircher, 6th Grade Principal JoEllen Paldino, 7th Grade Principal Kai Coleman-Morris, and 8th Grade Principal Stephanie Costello.
They presented how teachers emphasize flexible learning
environments that support content-area learning and how students utilize different areas for various activities.
They said the school uses flexible learning spaces — some of those include a large food court to accommodate large gatherings and seating options beyond the traditional cafeteria setting.
That includes the pool, workout rooms, and the large gymnasium.
In other school business, School Board President David Brown and Schools Superintendent Scott Eveslage reviewed the terms
of the proposed collective bargaining agreement between the
District and the Hatboro-Horsham Education Association (HHEA).
The agreement is for three years and will include salary increases for educators each year, while continuing to offer a competitive benefits package.
The proposed agreement was unanimously approved by
the school board.
