Noise Ordinance Considered In Horsham

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — After receiving numerous complaints from residents, the township is considering a noise ordinance.

At its meeting last Wednesday, the Horsham Township Council agreed to consider the ordinance.

That decision comes after township officials said they recently received a number of complaints about loud music late at night.

A public hearing will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, with the council possibly adopting it after the hearing.

In other township business:

• Council adopted a proclamation recognizing Juneteenth on June 19. On that day in 1865 Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce that all enslaved people in the state were free.
• A contract was awarded to replace a culvert on Davis Grove Road to Road-Con of West Chester for $715,463. The work is expected this summer.
• Council thanked township staff and the 50 volunteers who helped make Horsham Day a success.
