9/11 Ceremony In Horsham To Mark 25th Anniversary

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — The Horsham VFW Post 9788 will hold a ceremony on Friday to mark the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks on America.

The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at the Horsham VFW Post at 324 Saw Mill Lane.

"The township invites all to attend their 9/11 25th Anniversary Commemoration as they remember the lives lost, honor the first responders, support our veterans and reflect on the enduring spirit of our country," officials said.

There will be an opening ceremony followed by remarks, reflection, and community fellowship.

The Horsham VFW also invites veterans who served after 9/11 to share their stories.

On Sept. 11, 2001, 19 al-Qaida terrorists hijacked four airplanes, flying two into New York City's World Trade Center and one into the Pentagon.

Passengers fought back on the fourth, United Flight 93, which crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The deadliest U.S. terror attack killed 2,977 victims.

Larger observances will be held at the three sites in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Shanksville.
