Asbestos Discovered In Hatboro Police Building

The Hatboro police are moving their headquarters very suddenly.

Asbestos has been discovered inside the Hatboro Police Administration Building, and law enforcement will be moving their operation to a new location.

While recommendations are made by a contractor to minimize risk in the building, the police will operate from the second floor of borough hall of 414 York Road.

While the testing company has made recommendations to minimize risk in the building, it was decided to accelerate the timetable for moving the police out of the building for the renovation work.

There will be no interruption to police response during the transition to the new temporary headquarters.

Police noted that there may be some temporary disruption to non-emergency, business-only telephone lines (215-675-2832) as the internal telephone system is moved to the new location.

They added that the full switch-over will occur within the next 48 hours.

Police urge residents to call 9-1-1 for all emergencies.
