Beloved Longtime Hatboro-Horsham Coaches To Be Honored

Coaches Ayton, Ledyard, Steinly, and Wetzel will be celebrated for their combined 135 years of leadership and mentorship.

HORSHAM, PA -- We have all had that one person in our lives who has made a lasting, inspiring impact, and if we’re lucky, maybe more than one.

Sports coaches are famous for being remarkably influential in the lives of their players; however, how often is it that we have a chance to thank them for their efforts?

On Friday, January 15, 2016, the Hatboro-Horsham School District community will come together at the Salute to HH Coaching Legends event to honor and celebrate four spectacular coaches – Ayton, Ledyard, Steinly, and Wetzel – who have served their school and their students with pride.

With coaching careers spanning from 1960 – 2010, Coaches Bob Ayton (track), Dick Ledyard (baseball), Dennis Steinly (football), and Ralph Wetzel (wrestling) have over 135 combined years of leadership and mentorship. Alumni, friends, family, students, educators, and the entire community is invited to come support and honor these coaches.

Hosted by the Hatboro-Horsham Alumni Association, the event begins at 6:30 pm, with a meet & greet that will run until 8:00 pm, giving everyone a chance to say hello to the coaches and others in attendance.

From 8:00 pm until 9:00 pm, the coaches will be recognized and introduced. Immediately following there will be light refreshments. Admission is free.

The event will be held in the gym of Hatboro-Horsham Senior High School (899 Horsham Rd, Horsham, PA 19044).
