Boro Ball To Honor 4 Hatboro Community Members Saturday
The Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Boro Ball on March 21.

HATBORO, PA — The Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce will hold its biennial Boro Ball on Saturday, honoring four community members who have made an impact.
The event takes place from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, at the Spring Mill Country Club on Jacksonville Road in Ivyland.

"We are honoring some pretty amazing people," Chamber President and Hatboro Mayor Tim Schultz told Patch.
The Service to Youth Award is presented to Jim Moran, also known by many as Mr. Jim. Storytime with Mr. Jim is a staple at the Union Library of Hatboro on Tuesday and Friday Mornings. In addition to Moran volunteering to host Storytime at the Hatboro Library he also sits on many committees around Hatboro: Union Library Book Sale, the Millbrook Society History Event, Hatboro’s EAC, and National Night Out.

The Service to Business Award is presented to Crooked Eye Brewery- Paul Hogan and Pete Mulherin founders. Crooked Eye has been in business since 2014 and over the years they have hosted and participated in many different fundraisers in the town of Hatboro. The biggest fundraiser was for Hatboro’s Police Officer Ryan Allen, to help with the family’s expenses. They are always ready and willing to lend a helping hand.
The Service to Public Award is being presented to Kate Valesky, Fire Marshal/Emergency Management Coordinator for the Borough of Hatboro. Kate is also currently serving as a fire officer of the Enterprise Fire Company of Hatboro as Captain. In addition to her commitment to our community Kate is Battalion Chief at her local home Fire Department, Huntingdon Valley Fire Company.
The Service to Community Award is presented to Linda Roehner CEO and President of Hatboro Federal. She has spearheaded numerous initiatives aimed at improving the lives of Hatboro’s residents, including promoting homeownership, generously donating to many local school districts educational foundations, mentoring youth in their educational efforts working closely on special events with Hatboro organizations, and fundraisers benefiting the Hatboro Police Department.
The mayor also said that the Hatboro Little League will also receive a special award honoring its 70 years of operation and serving children in the community.
"In keeping with our tradition, the chamber will once again be presenting awards for distinguished service rendered to the Borough of Hatboro that are characterized by unselfish devotion to the welfare of others," chamber member Robert M.
John said.
The Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce hosts special and annual events to support area businesses, both large and small.
The categories for the awards are:
- "Service to Community"— This award is given to an individual whose distinguished service has enhanced the quality of life in the borough.
- "Service to Youth"— This award recognizes an individual who has given distinguished service that has affected the character development of youth in the borough.
- "Service to Public" — This is an award that will be presented to a public servant (employee of the borough, or person acting on behalf of the people or government of the borough) who has given distinguished service enhancing the
quality of public services. - "Service in Business" — This award is for a business that has given distinguished service improving the quality of business life in the greater Hatboro community.
