Borough Council Seeks Replacement For Hatboro Councilwoman Ostrander
Hatboro Councilwoman Aleta Ostrander passed away suddenly Monday. The borough is taking applications through Dec. 15 to fill the vacancy.

HATBORO, PA —With the sudden passing of Councilwoman Aleta Ostrander earlier this week, the borough now has a vacant council seat it needs to fill.
The borough announced that it is accepting applicants to replace Ostrander, a long-time councilwoman who served two stints on the board.
The Borough Code requires that the vacancy must be filled within 30 days of the date of the vacancy.

Anyone interested in filling this vacancy should send a resume and letter of interest to Borough Manager, Diane Hegele, at dhegele@myhatboro.org or drop off a copy to her attention at Borough Hall on 130 Spring Ave.
Resumes and letters of interest will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Dec. 15.

Ostrander was first appointed to Borough Council in May 2006 and served until Dec. 31, 2011. She was re-elected to the council in 2019 and served a second term from Jan. 1, 2020, through the present time.
A cause of death was not revealed. Ostrander was absent for Monday's committee meeting and budget presentation.
