BusPatrol Partnership Weighed In Hatboro-Horsham

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —The Hatboro-Horsham School District is mulling a potential partnership with BusPatrol to enhance student safety.

During the Hatboro-Horsham School Board meetings this month, Andre’ McLaurin —the district's director of educational programming, reported that the Safe Schools Committee met on Nov. 21 to discuss a range of school safety topics.

In October, all HHSD schools held their mandatory emergency safety drills, and administrators participated in a Horsham Township Emergency Management meeting, McLaurin reported.

During that meeting, the group discussed future training sessions and resource coordination between the school district and Horsham Township. The committee also discussed a potential partnership with BusPatrol to enhance student safety.

In other school board news:

  • The school board met on Dec. 2 for a reorganization meeting in which Jennifer Wilson and David Brown were re-elected as president and vice president respectively.
  • The school board's newest student representatives, Lily Hall and Nitya Narra, both in the Class of 2026, were welcomed by Schools Superintendent Scott Eveslage.
  • Eveslage highlighted many examples of Hatboro-Horsham’s giving spirit, such as the KVMS Toy Drive, HHHS Feed a Friend, elementary coat and food drives, and other charitable donations. He stated that HHSD strives to not only be a place of learning but also a community of compassion. He highlighted the district’s community partnerships, like their recent participation with the H.A.T. (Helping Around Town) Packs program.
  • Winter Break begins on Friday, Dec. 20, with a half day. The School District Office will be open on Dec. 23, 26, 27, 30, and 31. Students return to class on Thursday, Jan. 2. On behalf of the Board and administration, Eveslage wished all students, families, and community members a happy holiday season and a safe and peaceful New Year.
