HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —The drive-thru lines at the Chick-fil-A may soon be getting faster.

The Horsham Township Council has given the green light to the fast-food chain to add a second drive-through lane to its 134 Welsh Road location, granting final in a unanimous vote.

"It went through township planning. We have a resolution. It's ready," Township Manager Bill Walker said.

Chick-fil-A representatives had appeared before the council earlier this month with a plan to clear up congestion, separating drive-thru customers from those who dine in or order takeout.

Those changes will be part of the drive-thru lane plans.

Officials and representatives of the fast-food chain have stated that the Welsh Road location's parking lot can cause mass confusion, congestion, and frustration. They've heard it from residents, from those nearby who frequent the eatery, and even from township officials.

Under the plan, customers seeking to dine in or order takeout would enter through the Wawa side of the property while those just going through the drive-thru would enter from the Chase Bank side of the property, which is on the left of Chick-fil-A before the Wawa on Welsh Road.

There was no timetable given in the vote on when the work would be completed.
