Child Sex Assault Charges End In Prison For Former Horsham School Aide

HATBORO-HORSHAM, PA — A former special education assistant at a Hatboro-Horsham school will spend between 24 and 48 years in prison for sexually assaulting two boys in Bensalem.

Bucks County Common Pleas Judge C. Theodore Fritsch sentenced Anthony Troupe, of Bensalem, on Thursday and deemed him a sexually violent predator.

Troupe, 34, entered a plea of no contest to charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child (two counts), corruption of minors, dissemination of photos/film of child sexual acts, and other charges, court records show.

Troupe was a contractor assigned to Hallowell Elementary School in Horsham, and worked there for some time in 2020 and 2021, the school said. Township police said the victims were not associated with his job for the district.

He will have credit for time served from March 23, 2021 to the present. Troupe will also have to register as a sex offender for life and have no contact with victims, their families, or minors. Upon release, he must undergo a mental health evaluation, court records show.

Police originally arrested Troupe in March 2021 on child pornography charges, but added other charges after they identified two children they said Troupe had sexually assaulted in Bensalem. Read more: Horsham Elementary School Worker Faces Child-Sex Charges

One of the victims said Troupe is "the worst person I ever met" in court and said he regretted meeting Troupe, a Bucks County Courier Times report said.

For the two first-degree charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, Judge Fritsch sentenced Troupe to between 10 and 20 years on each charge. His sentence for the charge of corruption of minors is between one and two years, and the sentence for dissemination of photo/film of child sexual acts is between three and six years.

A number of other charges were not prosecuted.
